From Small Beginnings to Big Impact: The ComOps Culture Journey
How ComOps Builds a Culture That Drives Consistency and Client Success
At ComOps, culture isn’t just a buzzword—it’s the foundation of success.
What began as a spark of an idea during a car ride has blossomed into a business dedicated to helping smaller organizations consolidate and optimize their commercial operations.
Founders Robert and Lindsay Levine recently shared the secrets behind ComOps' culture-first approach, offering insights into how they maintain consistency, transparency, and a bespoke touch in every client engagement.
The Big Why Behind ComOps
Robert’s career at Hard Rock inspired a revelation: smaller organizations, like tribal casinos, often lack the bandwidth and expertise to centralize their commercial operations. This realization ignited ComOps’ mission to act as an extension of their clients’ teams, addressing unique challenges and accelerating growth.
“I love to sit down with operators, look at unique challenges, and find ways to accelerate growth,” Robert said. “We’re not just consultants; we become part of their team, bringing tailored solutions to every engagement.”
Transparency at the Core
For Lindsay Levine, transparency is the cornerstone of ComOps’ culture. “We try to be really transparent in our interactions—with both clients and team members. We put information forward so everyone knows what to expect,” she explained.
This commitment to clarity inspired Lindsay to create a culture map that defines the company’s identity as it grows. Initially, ComOps operated with a single core value: “Be a mensch,” meaning to do the right thing. While this resonated with Robert, the team evolved this philosophy into a more comprehensive framework that guides decision-making and reflects their shared values.
Building a Scalable Culture
As ComOps has grown, so has their dedication to consistency. They’ve developed processes like a robust onboarding program, which ensures new team members are fully immersed in the company’s protocols and values.
“From day one, we invested in a robust handbook,” Lindsay said. “Even when we only had two employees, we knew the importance of having clear guidelines to build our culture upon.”
This foresight has paid off. The culture map provides a roadmap for the company’s values and ensures every client engagement benefits from a consistent, reliable approach.
Adapting with Integrity
Core values don’t just guide everyday operations—they shine during challenging times.
Robert shared a story about a recent client issue that required tough decisions.
“At the end of the day, the client is right,” he explained. “Our values compelled us to adjust quickly, even when it meant some uncomfortable days internally. Doing what’s right for our clients is non-negotiable.”
Balancing Consistency with Customization
While consistency is a hallmark of the ComOps experience, every client engagement is bespoke. “We tailor everything to the client’s needs while ensuring results are consistent,” Robert said. This dual focus on customization and reliability has earned ComOps repeat business and lasting client relationships.
ComOps demonstrates that a strong culture isn’t just about words—it’s about actions. By staying true to their transparency, consistency, and integrity values, Robert and Lindsay Levine have built more than a company—they’ve created a community of clients and team members united by trust and shared purpose.
